Apologies for delay.  Yesterday was Valentine's day.  Dedicated time her to Wife all day.  She was very happy.



SUV ==> E83 - 2006 purchased in 2006 - mostly stored in garage



For testing in the garage live (very cold here) need to:

1 - Power the computer via aux 12VDC power

2 - put a battery charger on the vehicle



I have the carputer connected to the home network via Wireless and using VNC to access it, SSH and SFTP (linux). 

Inside of the vehicle with HU display change to computer screen using switch button on NAV/Radio controls.



Carputer is running LibreElec.



First screen pictures are using stock plugin.

Note simple configuration settings.

On-Board GPS data is fine and accurate here.

Updating plugin.



1 - SSH to computer

2 - shut down KODI ==> systemctl stop kodi

3 - SFTP to computer (via Linux)

4 - copy .kodi directory to home linux laptop.

5 - removed plugin and all data associated with plugin

6 - update plugin to beta2 via VNC and configured same as before

7 - changed CIS-Ibus to CD changer emulation and audio to AUX.

8 - looks to be working now...great stuff!!!!

   

   



9 - shutting down Kodi and backing it up to desktop to copy over to computer #2.

10 - driving to do some shopping later on so will test it on the road.

Thinking my Issues here relating to beta were:

1 - did not remove configuration when removing plugin

2 - configured CIS-Ibus device for CD Changer emulation

3 - configured plugin for CDChanger emulation and audio input to AUX.

Charging SUV right now as I thought I had plugged in charger and did not.

Redid hardware on my #2 computer here to two SSD drives.  Bootdrive (32Gb) and Media drive (1 Tb) and now imaging production SSD drive to new bootdrive.

Next testing HDHomerun TV streaming.

Tested during drive.

Noticed that I have no home key in cd emulation mode. I was using the right knob to go up and down in menus and pressing it to go to home key. Changed out cd emulation mode and will try again.

the addon logs all settings on startup to kodi logfile.
for right knob is only the select event. home is not possible for press/release action.

Before update I was holding the selector knob to return to home menu.

Which radio/nav button would work as a home key?

ok, holding is not pressing.
i have to check this.

tape reverse button does the back command.

Fixed. Now holding right knob down takes me to home menu. Yes been using tape back and forward button.

Difficult for me to type on mobile phone.

Understood and that is how I have used the tape back and forward button.

If I shut off the develop mode (one that will pass on errors) while running in the SUV the Board-Monitor info screen doesn't show any information when I do this.  If I enable the develop mode the Board Monitor Info screen looks fine with correct data.

   

Another concern is that when I am in the configuration of any plugin I cannot leave the configuration with the Home (right knob hold) key.

Rather with a keyboard attached I use the ESC key to exit the configuration and go to the home menu.
