I did and see a little text window saying changes were saved (or something similiar.

Yes. It is not a Raspberry Pi that I am using; rather it is an Intel 8th generation dual Atom CPU running LibreElec.

Board-Monitor screen went to German and liters and degrees C.

I removed all of the screen shots except for the last two.

there is something wrong.
remove the addon and deletet addon userdata of ibuscommunicator.
reinstall the latest beta version from zip file.

is the ibus interface connected to the car?

Will remove the add on and all user data.

The computer is been left powered on via an external power supply.  The E83 battery is connected to a battery charger.

The CIS-Ibus device remains connected and it is never disconnected.

1 - will leave ignition in position 2 (on)
2 - will remove addon and userdata
3 - will reboot computer
4 - will install addon from provided ZIP file.

Looking at the log (not really all that sure what I am looking at)...see a lot of references to the RPi and IKE country coding stuff.  Nothing obvious to me other than when starting with dev mode off it is all in German and with dev mode on it is in English.

Guessing that it is not getting the geolocation stuff when running in normal mode and assumes that I am in Germany.  Not sure about why the On-Board screens do not come up except for the two mentioned above.
